CO2 Regulator

CO2 Regulator

A CO2 Regulator helps with CO2 supplementation for your grow area and your plants will love you for it!  CO2 supplementation using CO2 tanks and regulators become necessary when the grow area is too large to be accommodated by other means of CO2 supplementation that are best suited for smaller growing areas, like the average grow tent ( e.g. Yeast and sugar solutions / mycelium generators / compressed CO2 can dispensers, etc. )

There is great benefit to supplementing with CO2 when growing – as plants use the carbon gleaned from CO2 in the air to literally build themselves! ( Read more HERE )

  • Please Note: Our regulators may vary slightly in appearance and specification, depending on availability.
  • IMPORTANT: These types of regulators are NOT made to release gas for extended periods of time ( short bursts of up to around 30 seconds only, with enough time between bursts to allow the regulator to get back to normal temperature ). For LARGE rooms a thermostatically controlled electric heated regulator will be required! An unheated unit will freeze up and cease to operate correctly or trip power supply when it releases gas for extended periods of time / too frequently! If a regulator freezes up – it is either overworked, or faulty. Both of these conditions require urgent attention.
  • HANDY TIP: Apply Soapy water to (pressurized) parts and connections of your system to make sure that there are no leaks present.

These CO2 Regulators are fitted with a 220-volt solenoid which can be turned on and off manually, or using a digital timer. Both of these methods are NOT RECOMMENDED – increasing CO2 levels in the air without CO2 monitors or CO2 controllers CAN BE FATAL! Using a CO2 controller with the regulator is ideal, as the controller’s CO2 sensor will turn the CO2 supply from the tank OFF when the desired ( and still safe for humans ) PPM levels are reached. Growers often like add enrich their room air to concentration of up to 1200 PPM CO2.

CO2 tanks are normally rented or refilled with commercial gas suppliers, e.g. Afrox.

Our regulators have the following minimum specifications:

  • 1.6m length of electrical cord and standard ZA Plug.
  • Max Inlet Pressure: 0-315 bar
  • Electricity Supply: 220V, solenoid 220V
  • Flow Rate: Up to 7 l/min
  • Pressure Gauge: Up to 3500 psi

Terra Aquatica FlashClean

Terra Aquatica FlashClean 2022

Terra Aquatica FlashClean(formerly GHE FloraKleen) is a unique, high performance rinse and soil conditioner for all substrates and systems.

From rejuvenating houseplants to maximizing yields and potential in commercial hydroponics, Terra Aquatica FlashClean is one of the most powerful tools available to gardeners!

Eventually, every growing system will develop fertilizer residue as a natural part of the growing process. This accumulation results in salt build-up that can block drippers, cause unsightly accumulations on the top of soil or substrate, and will eventually cause your plants undue stress and even root damage. With the highly concentrated nutrients available today, and high EC levels running in many systems, nutrient lockout can also be an invisible limit on your grow; Terra Aquatica FlashClean solves all these problems and more:

  • Dissolves accumulated fertilizer salts
  • Corrects nutrient balance
  • Treats nutrient lock out
  • Nourishes microbial life and refreshes soil and coco coir
  • Maximizes final stage growth (especially with Ripen)

Specifically developed to dissolve mineral salts, FlashClean releases nutrient bonds between minerals and substrate and allows you to rinse excess residue. This release also helps plants make the most of remaining fertilizers, especially in the crucial week just before harvest.

Unlike other “flushes” and finishing products on the market, FlashClean is not an acid, isn’t enzyme based, and does not dump magnesium or other mineral additives into your system – this makes it uniquely flexible: with FlashClean you can give your system, and your plants, a clean slate at any time and at any stage of the growth process.

No matter what type of growing system you’re using

– indoors or outdoors, soilless or hydroponic, pots or garden beds, FlashClean is easy to use: just mix with pH adjusted water and apply.

In recirculating hydroponic systems:

  • To reset and refresh before changing nutrients (Inc. before Ripen): Add 1.5 to 3 ml / L of FlashClean to your existing nutrient solution and circulate for 24 hours before draining and replacing with fresh nutrient solution. Use the lower dosage for young or fragile plants, and the higher dosage for established plants / close to harvest.
  • After nutrient burn or lock-out: Drain old nutrient solution, add 1.5 to 3 ml / L of FlashClean to pH adjusted water (you don’t need to use a full tank, just enough to circulate freely and run the system). Circulate for 24 hours before draining and adding new, fresh nutrient solution. Use the lower dosage for young or fragile plants, and the higher dosage for established plants.
  • As a final rinse (after Ripen): Drain old nutrient solution, add 1.5 to 3 ml / L of FlashClean to pH adjusted water (you don’t need to use a full tank, just enough to circulate freely and run the system). Circulate for for the last two days before harvest to increase sugar levels in your crop instead of losing aroma and medicinal content with a long water flush..

In potting soil & soilless mixes including Coco Coir:

  • To reset and refresh before changing nutrients (including before Ripen), and after nutrient burn or lock-out: Every fifteen days (or when needed after lock out etc.): fill a watering can with fresh pH adjusted water and add 1.5 to 3 ml / L of FlashClean. Drench until there is runoff from the bottom of the pot. Resume your regular fertilizer schedule with the next watering. Use the lower dosage for young or fragile plants, and the higher dosage for established plants.
  • As a final rinse / after Ripen: Use 3 ml / L of FlashClean instead of nutrients during the last two days before harvest to increase the sugars level in your crop instead of losing aroma and medicinal content with a long water flush.

NB: FlashClean can be used at any stage of growth or flowering but do not use FlashClean more than once every two weeks.

Use FlashClean with all nutrients and substrates, but above all Ripen

FlashClean helps Ripen work to its full potential. By rinsing residues of nitrogen and other salts out of your substrate, Ripen can get to work more effectively mobilizing nitrates and improving taste in your final crop.

When you’re done, instead of a 10-day flush with water after Ripen, try with FlashClean – growers around the world have, because in commercial production, 8 days per harvest is a big bonus!

Atami Cocos Substrate

Atami Cocos Substrate

Atami Cocos Substrate is a high quality growing medium comprised of coco fibres extracted from the mesocarp of the coconut. It is a 100% natural product and designed so that it can be used immediately.

The Atami Cocos Substrate is unique in the fact that it is a coco with light fertiliser included, sufficient enough for the 1st week of plant growth. The buffering ensures the grower has optimum control of pH levels. After the first week you can add water with liquid fertilisers and stimulators to gain optimal growing results. Because of the structure of coco, it can store nutrients that are continually available for the plant.

Cocos Substrate is produced under controlled conditions, which is an assurance of quality and offers the ability to use it over and over again after each growing cycle. It can absorb plenty of water in a short period of time and can also deliver water rapidly and abundantly.

The roots also have plenty of available oxygen, which keeps them active. Despite the absence of residual water, there is always enough humidity for the plant.

Coco substrate is light and stable and is one of the best mediums for providing oxygen to the roots of the growing plants. Atami coco substrates are internationally certified by RHP, a foundation whose aim is to optimize the quality of growing mediums.

The coconut fibres have been washed, steamed and buffered to ensure that the substrate is free from any pathogens and unwanted elements, giving an optimum growing substrate that is suitable for both seeds and cuttings.

EHG Tripaks (3 x 500ml)

EHG Tripaks (3 x 500ml)

EHG Tripaks (3 x 500ml) are convenient and complete 3-part nutrient starter kits that provide perfect nutrient combinations for every stage of your plants’ development. Simply follow the simple grow chart set out on the detailed instructions in the EHG (Easy Hydro Grow) nutrient guide.

Everything your plants will need to grow optimally either hydroponically or in substrates from seedling to flowering.

Both types of EHG Tripaks (3 x 500ml) include a “Grow” part and a “Bloom” part, but the “Micro” part differs between the sets…

The “Regular Micro” Tripak can be used in hydroponic and aeroponic systems, as well as for general feeding for plants in soils and substrates, but the “COCO Micro” Tripak includes a “Coco Micro” part, which is specifically formulated for use with Coco Coir / Coco Peat substrates.

The COCO Micro has increased calcium and magnesium and lower potassium to compensate for the fact that coco is organic and not inert. Coco absorbs calcium and magnesium and releases potassium which can lead to problems over time.

If using borehole water, one should stick to ordinary micro because borehole water is high in calcium and magnesium.

Nitrosol Organiksol

Nitrosol Organiksol

Nitrosol Organiksol – the organically based plant food “with the orange cap!” Organiksol is environmentally safe, readily absorbed by plants, and is recommended for all indoor and outdoor foliage and flowering plants.

Dilute 1 cap (10ml) into 3 liters of water and feed once every 14 days. More frequent doses can be administered if your plants are larger, or are feeding more heavily.

Nitrosol Organiksol Composition:

N: 80 g/kg
P: 20 g/kg
K: 58 g/kg
Mg: 7 g/kg
Ca: 6 g/kg
S: 4 g/kg
Fe: 60 mg/kg
Cu: 1 mg/kg
Mn: 40 mg/kg
B: 23 mg/kg
Mo: 15 mg/kg

Growth Stimulants:
Gibberellic Acid (3 mg/kg),
Sterilized Blood Bone and Carcass Meal

Gibberellic acid, a naturally occurring plant hormone, serves as a potent growth stimulant, particularly for enhancing stem elongation and seed germination. By influencing cell division and elongation, it facilitates rapid growth in plants, making it a valuable tool in agricultural and horticultural practices. Applied externally, typically through foliar spraying or soaking seeds, Gibberellic acid promotes elongation of stems, resulting in taller plants with increased internodal spacing. Moreover, it can break seed dormancy, leading to more uniform and synchronized germination. However, precise dosage and timing are crucial, as excessive application can lead to undesirable effects such as excessive stem elongation or abnormal growth patterns. Nonetheless, when used judiciously, Gibberellic acid proves to be an effective tool for boosting plant growth and development.

Manganese (Mn), Boron (B), and Molybdenum (Mo) play critical roles in plant nutrition, despite being required in relatively small amounts. Manganese aids in photosynthesis, enzyme activation, and nitrogen metabolism, ensuring healthy plant growth and development. Boron is essential for cell wall formation, pollination, and seed production, contributing to overall plant vigor. Additionally, Boron aids in the uptake of other nutrients, making it indispensable for nutrient utilization efficiency. Molybdenum is crucial for nitrogen fixation in legumes and assists in enzyme activation involved in nitrogen metabolism, ultimately influencing protein synthesis. While these micronutrients are required in trace amounts, their absence or deficiency can lead to significant yield losses and impaired plant function. Thus, ensuring adequate availability of Manganese, Boron, and Molybdenum in plant feeding regimes is vital for optimizing crop productivity and quality.

Atami High Porosity Cocos

Atami High Porosity Cocos

Atami High Porosity Cocos growing medium consists of high-quality aged, washed, buffered and adeptly fertilized coco, with the added benefit of the airiness of perlite.

The availability of air is vital for your crops’ root development. Roots need to breathe, as an airy substrate results in the production of more root hairs.  The oxygen is required to process sugars into energy. Using this energy, the roots can expand and actively supply more nutrients to the rest of your crop.

This is why it is essential that a substrate offers a high air percentage. Any airy substrate provides proper drainage and a continuous air supply.

The Atami High Porosity Cocos is unique in the fact that it is a coco with light fertiliser included, sufficient enough for the 1st week of plant growth. Because Nature Mycelium CO2 Generator

Because Nature Mycelium CO2 Generator

Because Nature Mycelium CO2 Generator utilizes Shiitake mushroom mycelium to generate additional CO2 for your grow area for months. Inside your bag is a living Mycelium culture growing on a sawdust substrate. Just like us humans Mycelium inhales O2 and exhales CO2 . This is great news as C02 is a vital gas your plant requires to be able to photosynthesize.

Because Nature Mycelium CO2 Generator Large bag should provide enough additional CO2 for a 1.8 m x 1.8 m x 1.8 m area for 4 months.

Because Nature Mycelium CO2 Generator Small bag should provide enough additional CO2 for a 1.8 m x 1.8 m x 1.8 m area for 2 months.

The Mycelium in your bag will consume the O2 waste from your plant and in exchange produce CO2 for your plants, allowing them to photosynthesize at their best.

All you need to do is place your Mycelium bag in your indoor grow room / tent (for best results hang your bag just above plant height) and the Mycelium will start doing the work for you.

Over time the bags will fully colonize, giving off CO2 for your plants all along the way.

Bags should always kept clean, be handled carefully, and never opened or punctured during colonization. The white fabric breather filter should be kept clean and dry, to prevent potential contamination of the substrate.

LIFE CYCLE OF A MYCELIUM GENERATOR:

  • Bags are inoculated ( production date )
  • Mycelium is allowed to colonize the substrate for up to 2 weeks, before the bags are refrigerated, to drastically slow down their development.
  • The substrate will firstly become fully covered with fine, feathery mycelium.
  • The mycelium will then develop round white masses all over the outside of the substrate, resembling popcorn.
  • This will turn from white, to beige, to brown, to almost black over time.
  • When the mass reaches this almost black appearance, it is recommended to replace the bag.
  • The Shiitake mushroom substrate CAN also be fruited once fully colonized, and after harvesting the remaining mycelium can be mixed into your other organic growing mediums.

If not using straight away, store in fridge to stop the Mycelium growth. When ready to use, place in grow area.

How Acti-Vera Works

The Aloe Vera plant is an evergreen perennial succulent that has been revered for thousands of years for its incredible life-giving properties. As it turns out, Aloe Vera is as good for plants as it is for people! It contains an array of enzymes that help to break down dead materials and make them available to plants as food, while creating a harmonious environment for beneficial bacteria and fungi. Add it to your feeding routine and you can expect to see an overall increase in health and vitality, with improved growth rates and a heightened level of resistance to stress. Your plants will be better equipped to deal with issues like pest infestations, root diseases and negative changes in the environment.
