Let’s talk about light. You plants need PAR light to grow and flower. PAR is an acronym for Photosynthetic Active Radiation; plants love the blue and red light from 400 to 750nm. Blue light tends to help the plants grow strong leaves and stems and the red part helps with flowering. BudBox™ Pro–White models reflects more PAR than Mylar material and at the same time reduce troublesome hot spots (concentrated heat energy) and, as such, will always the professional’s choice when it comes to horticulture. Not only is the flat white material reflecting more PAR light directly to your plants it reflects less of the overall unused spectrum. With light energy comes heat energy and the Pro-white lining will always run cooler than a standard Mylar tent. The Mylar material will reflect more heat energy, therefore, will run hotter (around 6-8degC) as such, the these units require greater ventilation, or the use of less powerful lighting, so the environment does not overheat and damage your plants.

  • Lettuce
  • Ficus Benjamina
  • Azaleas
  • Erica Carnea
  • All kinds of young and herbaceous plants

Packet Sizes: 1Kg and 500g

The feeding schedule is slightly different and if using anything than soil we recommend using a PH- and EC-meter in order to achieve the desired values and have full control over your feeding solution.

Easy Grower

If you grow on pre-fertilized soil we recommend starting using Powder Feeding 2-4 weeks after planting the seeds and to start with a mild solution (0.25g per Liter).

During the vegetative stage you can increase the feeding up to 0.5g per Liter.
With the beginning of the flowering stage you should slowly increase the amount of Powder Feeding until you reach 1g per Liter.

Following this schedule, there should usually be no problem and growers will achieve a good yield.

Experienced Grower

Experienced growers usually measure their feeding solution to provide the plants with the exact amount of nutrients and the correct pH value of the solution.

Whether you grow in coco, hydroponics or aeroponics – with all of these systems you should measure your pH and EC values.

When using a pH and EC meter you can optimize your growing and achieve much better results.

Steps of mixing nutrient solution:

1. a) Check pH and EC value of the water and make sure the temperature is about 18-22 degrees Celsius. You should also check if your water contains enough Calcium.

1. b) If your EC is 0,0 (using RO or rain water) you need to add Calcium to your water before adding Powder Feeding. Make sure your EC rises up to 0.3-0.4 EC

2. Add Powder Feeding and mix well for 2-3 minutes, and then measure the EC value. If necessary repeat until you reach the desired value.

3. When you reached the desired EC value, wait for 15-30 min.

4. Then measure the PH and if necessary adjust it using PH up or PH down – mix good for 2-3 minutes and wait again 15-30 minutes before measuring.

5. When you reached the desired values, feed your plants.

To keep every dose accurate our 10 gr. dosage spoon is INCLUDED!

Messenger Natural Plant Health Promoter and Growth Stimulator

Messenger Natural Plant Health Promoter and Growth Stimulator

Messenger Natural Plant Health Promoter and Growth Stimulator.

Active Ingredient – Harpinαβ Protein. SOLD IN 15 gram bottles.

  • Stimulates Root, Flower and Fruit growth.
  • Improves disease resistance using natural chemical processes.
  • Causes a systemic action within the plant, resulting in a full-plant response.

How Messenger Natural Plant Health Promoter and Growth Stimulator Works:

Plants develop receptors on their seeds, roots and foliage to detect the presence of Harpin Proteins which are produced in nature by certain bacterial plant pathogens. The presence of Harpin Proteins trigger an “early warning system” in the plant, activating its defense genes, boosting the plan’s disease resistance and stimulating accelerated growth.

1. RECEPTION
When Messenger is sprayed onto the plant, it binds to the natural Harpin receptors. These early-warning receptors react as if Messenger is a bacterial pathogen attacking the plant.

2. TRANSDUCTION
Within minutes, this stimulates the plant to activate its defense systems. Messenger amplifies the natural growth processes, resulting in increased nutrient uptake, photosynthesis, vigor and reproductive responses. The stress-defense response increases plant tolerance to stress caused by the environment, physiological shifts in plant growth and biological agents such as disease pathogens. Environmental stresses are drought, heat, hail, frost and flooding.

3. RESPONSE
These reactions activate both innate growth and stress-defense pathways within the plant, resulting in healthier, stronger crops that are characterized by better tolerance to stress conditions, better growth and increased production.

The effects of using Messenger Natural Plant Health Promoter and Growth Stimulator

Calcium levels outside the plant cell are typically 1000 times higher than inside the cell. Messenger can induce a calcium flux within minutes after application, allowing higher levels of calcium to flow
into the cell.

NORMALLY A PLANT ONLY INDUCES THIS RESPONSE WHEN UNDER ATTACK. MESSENGER IS UNIQUE IN ITS ABILITY TO ACTIVATE CALCIUM MOVEMENT.

The calcium content of the plant cell is separated into ‘free’ and ‘bound’ calcium. The concentration of cytosolic free calcium is maintained at low levels because of the signaling nature of calcium. Calcium is a macro-element nutrient; it can also be referred to as a plant hormone. Calcium works similarly to adrenaline in humans- it is held in low concentrations and only elevated when under attack.

Yield increases of 10-30% are possible

Directions for use :

  • Not advised for use on sickly plants
  • Foliar Spray Only (fine mist spray not drench)
  • 0.5 g / Per Liter water. If you have white burns, use less Messenger.
  • Apply every 2/3 weeks until 2 weeks before harvest.
  • Apply directly after mixing.
  • Shelf Life: 3-5 years if kept sealed in a cool, dry place.

Messenger has won and Environmental Protection Agency award.

Growbiz Solutions LiquiCompost

Growbiz Solutions LiquiCompost

Growbiz Solutions LiquiCompost is a PhytoFulvic acid chelated nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P} and potassium (K} and micro-nutrient product that is totally soluble in water. LiquiCompost improves the uptake of nutrients due to the chelating properties of the fulvic acid and promotes quicker germination and faster root and shoot growth. The fulvic acid and Kelp content also stimulates soil microbial activity. Contains Ecklonia Kelp to support cell division and mobility of the nutrients in the plant and lateral root growth.

LiquiCompost is to be used for the seedling and the Vegetative growing stages of the plant.

The plant extracted Phytofulvic acid used in Growbiz Solutions LiquiCompost has strong wetter/spreader and re-wetter characteristics due to its hygroscopic (water loving) nature. The wetting capability is directly related to its water dispersing qualities (soapiness) to break the surface tension of water.

Green House Powder Feeding – BioGrow

Green House Powder Feeding – BioGrow

Green House Powder Feeding – BioGrow is an all-in-one bio fertilizer in powder form, formulated specifically for the vegetative growth of all plants. All essential nutrients are provided by the natural-minerals and organic raw materials.

Green House Powder Feeding – BioGrow is suitable for biological agriculture. Natural mineral nutrients are immediately available for the plant and the organic nutrients are released slowly after being decomposed by microorganisms in the soil.

The beneficial fungus and bacteria in BioGrow improve the microbial activity of the soil by supplying components that form humus. This process depends on the conditions of the soil (e.g. humidity, temperature, pH-value, microbial activity, organic matter content, etc.)

How to use:
BioGrow needs to be mixed into the substrate. It can be used in soil, coco or similar substrates.
It can be mixed at the time of transplantation or added later as top dressing (mixed into the top layer of the soil)

The nutrients will be released constantly during a period of 8 weeks.

If the growth period is less than 8 weeks or the substrate is pre-fertilized, doses should be decreased. Use half dosage for seedlings and young plants (2-3 weeks old). If the growth period is longer, a second application is required (as top dressing).

Dosage:

Vegetative growth: 3g per Liter substrate

Mother plants: 2-3g per Liter substrate every two months (as top dressing)

Warning:

Mycelium from beneficial fungus can appear on top of the substrate.

It improves microbial life inside the substrate and will not harm humans, animals or plants.

Fungi is the main agent of the decomposition of organic matter such as simple sugars, amino acids, etc.

It solubilizes minerals that are not initially available to plants.

DO NOT REMOVE THIS FUNGUS! IT WILL DISAPPEAR AFTER SEVERAL DAYS

Pot SCROG Scrog Frames

Pot SCROG Scrog Frames 1

Pot SCROG Scrog Frames – One pot, one scrog frame! These per-pot plant support trellis frames enable you to train and support your plants while still being able to move them in and out of your grow tent or grow area whenever you want to.

Pot SCROG Scrog Frames are available from Hydroponic.co.za in 2 sizes:

Large, for 15lt pots or larger:
Top square frame is approx. 55 x 55 cm
Distance between top and bottom square is approx. 60 cm
The large frame is made so that 4 frames can be put into a 1.2 x 1.2 m grow tent.

Medium, for 5lt pots or larger:
Top square frame is approx. 43 x 43 cm
Distance between top and bottom square is approx. 54 cm
The large frame is made so that 4 frames can be put into a 1 x 1 m grow tent.

Growers who like to train and scrog (“Screen of Green”) their plants often get frustrated when their plants become unmovable, being tied to netting that is attached to a growing table or to grow tent frames, as this often makes trimming, defoliating, foliar spraying, flushing, pest identification and pest control hard if not impossible to do with ease.

With Pot SCROG Scrog Frames, each plant can be beautifully trained and levelled and still be easily moved outside for a good flush or onto a table for an easy trim or foliar treatment.

These frames ship in flat-packs, saving shipping fees and are quickly and easily assembled on site, as each frame’s scrogging grid is already woven into the frame

How to work out the size and type of fan required:
In order to provide adequate ventilation for a given application, it is essential the
correct size, type and number of units are selected. Selection of the correct fan depends on two
principal factors: the performance and application.
Step 1
step1
Determine which mounting arrangements meet your requirements
Step 2
step2
Calculate the VOLUME of the room in cubic metres (m3) by multiplying the lenght x width x height.
Step 3
How many air changes (AC/H) are required.Work out how fast one complete ‘air change’ needs to be carried out under warm conditions (i.e the maximum you will ever need the fan to operate). If excess heat in a certain growing environment is a common problem, or there is a large volume of plants growing in a very restricted space you will need more air flow per hour than for a larger growing area which doesn’t suffer from too much heat build up with smaller plants.Growers commonly underestimate just how much ‘air exchange’ is required to remove excess heat and humidity, bring in fresh CO2 and generally create fresh air movement over all of the plant surfaces. As a comparison to greenhouse crops growing in full sunlight – one air change per minute or 60 air changes an hour are often aimed for with large, mature crops growing under warm, humid conditions. However, in a grow room situation, one complete air change obtained in 4-5 minutes is acceptable. Obviously this needs to be more frequent (one complete air change in 2-3 minutes) where lighting is creating a lot of extra heat to be removed or when a CO2 generator is being used.
Step 4
Use the following formula: Volume (m3) x AC/H = Airflow (m3/h)

Step 5
Select a fan that does the airflow you require.

YoYo Plant Trainer

YoYo Plant Trainer

The YoYo Plant Trainer are superb for separating and spreading out your plant stems. Attach the yoyo to your tent-frame or grow-room wall and then pull out the angled hook and clip it around the plant-stem. The gentle tension in the yoyo will then pull the plant-stem out. Great for getting plants to open out for increased yields!

  • YoYo Plant Trainer – one of our most popular plant-training / support devices
  • Contains a 1.2m long nylon line with an angled hook for clipping around a stem
  • Light spring tension in the yo-yo gently pulls the stem toward the reel
  • Alternatively, you can insert the included plastic stopper to keep the line at a static length.
  • Attach yo-yo to your tent-fame or grow-room wall and gently open your plant out to receive more of the available light
  • Helps you to make the most of your grow-space and light
  • Re-useable many times

The YoYo Plant Trainer Contains:

1 x YoYo Plant Trainer

How the YoYo Plant Trainer Works:

The yo-yo plant trainer consists of a 1.2 metre long nylon line (similar to fishing line) which is wound onto a lightly sprung reel inside the yo-yo’s housing. An angled hook is attached to the end of the nylon line for clipping around a plant-stem and there is hanging hook on the yo-yo reel housing for attaching to a grow-tent frame or your grow-room wall (via a cup-hook or similar). The tension is fairly consistent over the 1.2 metres of the travel but inevitably there is slightly more tension on the line at full extension than there is when only a few centimetres has been pulled out.

Using the Yo-Yo Plant Trainer

Yo-Yo plant trainers are mainly for use on mature plants as they reach the end of the vegetative phase and also especially during flowering/fruiting. Plant-stems on young plants are usually too thin and delicate for this type of training. During the flowering/fruiting time, plants tend to grow upwards but not outwards, leading to the stems getting bunched together. By opening out the plant, each stem will get more light lower down, encouraging more flower or fruiting sites.

Attach the yo-yo body to the outside of your grow-space (i.e to your grow-tent or grow-room wall) via the clip. Pull the hook out and clip it around the plant-stem. The plant-stem will now be gently pulled towards the yo-yo body, opening the plant out. Use as many yo-yo’s as necessary, pulling in different directions, to open out your plant to receive more light and increase the number of flowering or fruiting sites which will eventually increase yields.

If you are lucky enough to have stems bowing under the weight of your crop at the end of the flowering or fruiting stage then yo-yo’s can be attached to the ceiling / tent-roof frame, to provide upwards support to the plant-stems. This will help prevent stems from bowing downwards away from the light and also from breaking under the weight of the produce!
