Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous Earth is made from fossilized water plants and is a natural occurring siliceous sedimentary mineral compound from the remains of algae-like plants called diatom. The plants have been part of earth’s ecology system dating back to prehistoric times. The chalk deposits the diotoms left are called diatomite, the diatoms are mined  and ground up to  make a powder that has a look and a feel much like talcum powder.

Diatomacous Earth s a mineral based pestcide and its composition is approximately 3% magnesium, 5% sodium, 2% iron, 19% calcium, 33% silicon along with several other elements.

Diatomaceous Earth may be used as a barrier to control pests: adult flea beetles, sawfly, coddling moth, twig borer, thrips, mites, cockroach, slugs, snails, aphids, earwigs, silverfish, and ants. Can be used for bedbugs, cabbage root flies, carrot root flies, fleas, pillbugs, ticks and is helpful in dealing with fungus gnats.

Can be used Indoors and Outdoors

Agricultural grade Diatomaceous Earth will kill all insects, including beneficial ones, so please use sparingly!

Although silica is not essential for plant growth and development, it can provide many benefits. It helps strengthen cell walls, guards against environmental stress, improves the uptake of water and minerals and adds an extra level of protection against fungal diseases such as powdery mildew.

Please note: This is not Food Grade and is not for consumption

EHG Ripener

EHG Ripener

EHG Ripener speeds up and enhances the ripening process in late flowering. Part of the Easy Hydro Grow range.

EHG Ripener signals to the plant that it is coming to the end of its life. The plant then speeds up the ripening process and reinforces its defences. Helps the plant to metabolise the build up of nitrate and micro elements which results in improvement in taste.

  • Place each component separately in reservoir.

Sticky Trap

Sticky Trap

The Sticky Trap lures insects using bright colors and traps them with a sticky, non-toxic glue which coats both sides. The yellow trap attracts aphids, thrips, flies, fungus gnats, whiteflies and leafminers.  The special shade of blue is especially attractive to certain species of thrips and leafminers.

The Sticky Trap usually do not attract beneficial insects.

Peel off the protective coating and simply hang the sticky trap using one of the perforations as a hang hole or stake the traps in a pot. Cut to smaller size if required.

The Stick traps are water-resistant and last for several months. Replace once half of the surface of trap is covered with insects or dust.

The square grid pattern allows you to monitor the level of infestation.

Don’t spray harmful chemicals around your garden or in your home, get rid of destructive insects the easy way with these Sticky Traps. We recommend setting the traps early in the season before the populations of insects build.

Sold per single Trap

Length: 19.5cm

Width: 8.5cm

Using sticky traps to monitor pests is a standard greenhouse practice that can help reduce overall pest management costs when coupled with plant inspections. Sticky traps are a tool for identifying adult insect pests present in a greenhouse, including whiteflies, thrips, fungus gnats, shore flies and leafminers. Sticky traps can also be used to monitor adult parasitoids released in biological control programs.

Sticky traps only capture airborne adults and do not capture immature stages that commonly cause most crop damage.

Some greenhouse pests such as spider mites, scales and mealybugs are usually not caught on sticky traps. Only winged aphids are captured, and winged forms do not typically appear until population levels are high. For these reasons, sticky traps must be used in combination with visual plant inspections to confirm the presence of economically damaging pest populations.

Packet Sizes: 1Kg & 500g

The feeding schedule is slightly different and if using anything than soil we recommend using a PH- and EC-meter in order to achieve the desired values and have full control over your feeding solution.

Beginner Easy Grower

If you grow on pre-fertilized soil we recommend starting using Powder Feeding 2-4 weeks after planting the seeds and to start with a mild solution (0.25g per Liter).

During the vegetative stage you can increase the feeding up to 0.5g per Liter.
With the beginning of the flowering stage you should slowly increase the amount of Powder Feeding until you reach 1g per Liter.

Following this schedule, there should usually be no problem and growers will achieve a good yield.

Experienced Grower

Experienced growers usually measure their feeding solution to provide the plants with the exact amount of nutrients and the correct pH value of the solution.

Whether you grow in coco, hydroponics or aeroponics – with all of these systems you should measure your pH and EC values.

When using a pH and EC meter you can optimize your growing and achieve much better results.

Steps of mixing nutrient solution:

1. a) Check pH and EC value of the water and make sure the temperature is about 18-22 degrees Celsius. You should also check if your water contains enough Calcium.

1. b) If your EC is 0,0 (using RO or rain water) you need to add Calcium to your water before adding Powder Feeding. Make sure your EC rises up to 0.3-0.4 EC

2. Add Powder Feeding and mix well for 2-3 minutes, and then measure the EC value. If necessary repeat until you reach the desired value.

3. When you reached the desired EC value, wait for 15-30 min.

4. Then measure the PH and if necessary adjust it using PH up or PH down – mix good for 2-3 minutes and wait again 15-30 minutes before measuring.

5. When you reached the desired values, feed your plants.

Clamps

Clamps
Clamps are a  simple solution for connecting ducting to Inline Fans, Carbon Filter, Ducting Splitters or Air Cooled Reflectors. Fitted with a worm screw, tighten with a screw driver in a few seconds.  Clamps provide a secure connection, ensuring your extraction system remains securely connected.
The Clamps are made from strong, Stainless Steel  They are super easy to install and will last you for many grows to come. To install a clamp, you simple screw it open wide enough to fit over the end of your ducting, slip your ducting over the Fan/Reflector/Carbon Filter’s flange and screw it closed to ensure your ducting is fastened on tightly.

Available in a few different sizes to suit all ducting sizes. They are an efficient, cost effective method of joining ventilation equipment.

Clamp Sizes:

14-32mm (for larger water pumps)
95-121mm
133-159mm

197-222mm
241-267mm
286-311mm

PLEASE NOTE: 14-32mm Clamps are Stainless Steel, for use under water.

315mm clamping info

Clamps are an adjustable steel band that the user tightens with a screw. Most people generally know this kind of fitting as a Jubilee Clip which is often in the plumbers tool box. The premise is the same just on a bigger scale to suit ducting, not water pipes. The worm gear that adjusts the tightness allows a secure connection between ducting and fan or filter.

Many growers use ducting clamps in combination with Aluminium tape. This makes an even stronger join with advantages of both. The tape has a bigger surface area for joining and can go round and round as many times as you want. It can degrade after a while though so the Ducting Clamp will increase holding power of the join.

Bluelab pH Pen

Bluelab-pH-Pen

The Bluelab pH Pen is the ultimate handy solution for measuring pH and temperature! Plants only take up nutrients if pH and temperature is in range.

Plants get their nutrient from minerals but they can only get all the right minerals they need if certain conditions are right. Think of nutrients like a lock. pH is the key. A key factor that affects food uptake is whether your solution is acid or alkaline. We measure this in pH.

The Bluelab pH Pen also measures the temperature of the solution, as root health is vital to the success of a crop. Temperature affects the growth rate and structure of a plant so a solution temperature of 18 – 22˚C or 65 – 72˚F is recommended.

The hand held pH pen provides a compact quick and handy way to manage the success of your crop to ensure maximum uptake of nutrients.
