Garden HighPro ProActiv Carbon Filters

Garden HighPro ProActiv Carbon Filters

Garden HighPro ProActiv Carbon Filters – extremely light, single-use carbon filters.

ProActiv Carbon Filters use only 100% food grade virgin coconut activated carbon, encased in multi-layer fleece mats that are sealed air-tight on both ends of the scrubber.

Installation is super easy – just clip each end of the filter onto a rope ratchet and attach your ducting!

  • Get rid of unwanted odours by attaching a carbon filter before your exhaust fan/s.
  • In a closed-system grow area, cycle your air through a carbon filter to help keep it free from dust, mold spores and bacteria. (Be sure to DEHUMIDIFY – carbon filters stop working in 85% + R.H. environments !)
  • Clean and scrub your incoming air supply and stop pests like spider mites and others from getting into your grow area by installing a carbon filter before your inlet fan/s.

How match your Garden HighPro ProActiv Carbon Filters up with the correct sized inline fans:

1) First, determine how much air-flow your will need through your grow space. If you are using fans to exhaust heat caused by hot HPS grow-lamps, a quick calculation can be done…

Number of lamps × Watts of each lamp ÷ 2 = Required cubic meters per hour of air flow needed.

(We recommend adding × 1.2 to this answer for our HOT ZA summers!)

2) Find one or more fans (whichever will best suit your area) that will provide a total airflow =/> than what has been worked out in step 1.

3) Match up each of your chosen fans with a carbon filter of the same diameter (preferably, to avoid the additional cost of ducting reducers). Also check the filter length if installing in cramped spaces.

VERY IMPORTANT: ALSO make sure that the filter’s air-flow capacity matches or exceeds the fan’s airflow rating, using the ProActive Filter table below. If too much air passes through the filter, it will not be able to scrub the passing air thoroughly!

ProActiv Carbon Filter Specs

4) Once your fans and filters have been matched up, it’s time to work out how many meters of ducting your will need, as well as other accessories, like Rope Ratchets, Ducting Clamps, or rolls of Aluminium Tape.

Budget Large Propagator

Budget Large Propagator

The Budget Large Propagator is as big as other large / X-large high dome plant propagators, but significantly smaller on price! The available inside height for clones (including the clone plug’s height) is approx. 18 cm and the inside of the the tray is 31 cm x 51 cm, able to accommodate seedling trays like the 45 Cell Tray, ROOTiT 60 Cell Tray, and also 2 x 48 Cell Trays. The clear lid has to ventilation ports that can be opened to reduce humidity inside the dome over time.

The propagator’s base does have a bit of a bubble when empty, but will flatten out when weighed down with a tray full of clones that are ready to root!

The outside dimensions of this humidity dome is 23 cm (H), 38 cm (W),  58 cm (L)

Using a humidity dome like the Budget Large Propagator when propagating plant clones or cuttings is an essential step to ensure successful rooting. Start by selecting healthy, disease-free parent plants and trim them to include a few leaves and a node where roots will emerge. Dip the cut end of each cutting into a rooting hormone to encourage faster root development and improve success rates. Insert the cuttings into a growing medium such as peat, perlite, or a soilless mix, ensuring each cutting is firm and stable. Place the cuttings inside a propagation tray and cover them with a humidity dome. The dome helps maintain high humidity levels, crucial for preventing the cuttings from drying out since they lack roots to absorb water.

Position the tray in a location with indirect light or use a grow light set to a low intensity to avoid scorching the tender cuttings. Aim to keep the humidity levels inside the dome around 90-100% for the first few days, then gradually reduce it to 80-85% as roots begin to develop. Monitor the moisture of the growing medium and mist the cuttings if necessary to maintain adequate humidity. Ventilate the dome periodically to allow fresh air exchange, which helps prevent mold and fungal growth. Once the cuttings have established roots, usually within 1-3 weeks, you can begin acclimating them to the external environment by gradually increasing the time the dome is removed each day.

Coco Peat Grow Bags

Coco Peat Grow Bags

Coco Peat Grow Bags (WASHED) – used as a component to grow food crops including strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers and more. These coco coir-based grow bags are made from 100% natural renewable raw material of superior quality for faster germination of plants with healthy root system. It is used across hydroponic cultivation, domestic purpose, and commercial greenhouses worldwide.

  • Reflects 90% sunlight keeping the Rooting area cooler than plastic pots.

  • Usable for a year, super strong and resists chemical reaction.
  • DIY drain holes to suit any plant for great drainage and aeration.

Coco Peat Grow Bags could be buffered using a Calcium Magnesium and water solution, soaked overnight (or at least for a few hours), and then rinsed again before use, but these already have a low E.C. of < 0.5 mS/cm.

Sold individually.

Compressed block dimensions: 97cm x 20cm x 4cm

Block should decompress to a height of approx. 17cm

DIRECTIONS:

  • Level surface and create suitable (slight) slope towards DIY drainage holes if needed
  • Add 7 liter of clean water / buffering solution / nutrient solution to expand the grow slab
  • Cut DIY planting holes into top of bag and plant

Buffering coir:

When coco coir is buffered, for instance using EHG Cal Mag PLUS, it undergoes a process that replaces the potassium and sodium that is held onto by the coir, with calcium and magnesium that is added to the coir during the buffering process. Doing this before using the coir, makes this process happen BEFORE plants is introduced, instead of the process happening with plants growing in the coir already.

Nobody wants their coir to “steal” the Ca and Mg in their nutrient solutions when feeding their plants and for these minerals to be replaced with Sodium and Potassium instead, but this is what will happen when using improperly buffered and rinsed coir.

Buffering ( and then rinsing ) coir is a proactive measure to create an optimal growing environment that supports healthy root development, robust vegetative growth, and bountiful yields for a wide range of plant species.

BioBizz Hydro Try Pack

BioBizz Hydro Try Pack

BioBizz Hydro Try Pack – If you want to grow hydroponically but are tired of feeding minerals to your plants. Maybe you’d like to enjoy the natural taste of an organic harvest but can’t let go of your soil-free ways?

This is where our Biobizz Try Pack Hydro can help. It makes it simple to gain experience using the Biobizz range of 100% organic fertilizers that are suitable for any hydroponics system.

*Packaging may vary

Each BioBizz Hydro Try Pack contains:

250ml Bio·Bloom
250ml Top·Max
250ml Bio·Heaven

Biobizz World Wide Organics is dedicated to the production and export of organic fertilizers ensuring the highest quality of each of the products we create, as well as the result that the grower gets when they use them.

Biobizz was born in 1992 in Groningen, the Netherlands. At that time, it was a small family business, with a smaller product line, but the DNA of the product was already very present.

Since then Biobizz has not stopped growing. Today they are present in 70 different countries, but the feeling is still that of belonging to a family, because all team members know each other and work together to ensure that Biobizz continues to be a leading company in the sector.

BioBizz Certs

Feeding Schedules:

You don’t need to use ALL of the products on the feeding schedules to get great results, especially if you are just “trying” BioBizz out.

The key thing to remember is that BioBizz is an organic nutrient, which means that beneficial microbes need to break the nutrients down to make them plant-available. “Clean” coco coir based substrates will not have these microbes present in them and they would need to be added in order to get colonies established in the substrate to break these nutrients down. Enriched/amended substrates will often have beneficial microbes added in, either directly, or by the addition of bacteria-carrying amendments like worm castings or compost, so there is less need to worry about them being present.

Additionally, as can be seen below, enriched substrates (“hot soils”), require less supplemental feeding, because they are already packed with nutrient-rich amendments. Some enriched substrates will favor the plants’ vegetative phase and some are more geared towards providing nutrition during the blooming/fruiting phases – the composition of your chosen substrate will have an impact on your feeding requirements.

Luckily, organic nutrients tent to be more forgiving when it comes to dosing than mineral nutrients – no need to stress too much, just follow the recommended schedule!

Terra Aquatica Pro Organic Starter Kit

Terra Aquatica Pro Organic Starter Kit

Highly concentrated, fully organic, liquid nutrient.

Terra Aquatica Pro Organic Starter Kit is the first and only complete certified organic nutrient for all substrates. Pro Organic formulas are specifically designed to meet the needs of all plants throughout growth, flowering and fruiting. Terra Aquatica Pro Organic is based on  formulations on ecological principles that maintain respect for the environment whilst providing plants with balanced, effective nutrition.

Pro Organic actively improves the root environment by feeding microbes that live in harmony with your plant. This provides the essential nutrition and environment to deliver healthy vegetative growth, flowering and fruiting.

Pro Organic is perfectly soluble and well adapted to automatic and drip irrigation systems, or hand watering in conventional gardening. It is also the only nutrient certified for Bioponics (bare root recirculating organic hydroponics). See Bioponics feed chart.

Dosages:

Pro Organic is very concentrated: a maximum of 2 ml/L in water is enough in soil or hydroponics. Shake bottles well before each use, add each part to water separately, mix thoroughly, and always rinse measuring equipment.

(GROW)  N – P – K ratio = 4 – 0 – 5

(BLOOM) N – P – K ratio = 3 – 1 – 4

PLEASE NOTE: Pro Organic (and all organic feed) must be broken down by microbes to be made accessible to plants. Use in conjunction with organic soil mixes, like Freedom Farms Premium Growing Medium, and/or beneficial microbe additives, like Biodyne Environoc 401 Microbes.

In Bioponics: For a colony big enough to do this to develop, especially early on in a plant’s life, a biofiltering system working 24/24h must be added to the tank in both drain to waste and recirculating systems.

Biofiltering systems be purchased in your local shop, or made by suspending a plastic basket (3 to 5L) filled with 60% clay pebbles and 40% coco over your tank and running water through it continuously. (Do not immerse filter systems in the tank as high oxygen levels are vital for rapid growth of beneficial microorganisms.)

Terra Aquatica Bloom Booster:

100% Organic bloom and fruiting booster

Boost explosive flowering and fruiting, naturally.

Bloom Booster is a powerful bloom stimulator that generates explosive flowering and massive fruit production. It increases metabolic activity and mineral uptake by utilizing bio-stimulants and organic transport enhancers – not synthetic PGRs ( Plant Growth Regulators). This induces abundant, dense, floral clusters during the crucial flowering and fruiting phases. The results are spectacular flowering and more flavorful fruits.

Bloom Booster works naturally and allows plants to express the best of their genetic potential. For all plants during the flowering phase of plant growth.

An extra surprise in the box with your Terra Aquatica Pro Organic Starter Kit:

trikologic 50gTerra Aquatica Pro Organic Starter Kit also comes with a 10g sachet of Trikologic. A high quality dry Trichoderma Harzianum culture.

As with all aerobic microorganisms, the better the oxygen supply, and the more stable pH, temperature and humidity are; the healthier and more effective Trikologic will be.

As a drench when sowing seeds, and as an additive to water/nutrient for seedlings, young, and adult plants: add 1g for every 15 to 20 liters of water or nutrient solution every 6 to 8 weeks.

For adult plants, in soil or coco: add 10g for every 150 to 200 liters of water or nutrient solution every 6 to 8 weeks; just add to your water/nutrient system, or water directly onto substrate.

In pure, bare root hydroponics and bioponics: When plants are young and have small root systems, Trikologic needs a base to regroup and reproduce: to provide this use a commercially available biofilter unit, or suspend a 3 to 5L plastic basket filled with 80% clay pebbles and 20% coco coir under falling water in your tank.

Atami Cocos Substrate

Atami Cocos Substrate

Atami Cocos Substrate is a high quality growing medium comprised of coco fibres extracted from the mesocarp of the coconut. It is a 100% natural product and designed so that it can be used immediately.

The Atami Cocos Substrate is unique in the fact that it is a coco with light fertiliser included, sufficient enough for the 1st week of plant growth. The buffering ensures the grower has optimum control of pH levels. After the first week you can add water with liquid fertilisers and stimulators to gain optimal growing results. Because of the structure of coco, it can store nutrients that are continually available for the plant.

Cocos Substrate is produced under controlled conditions, which is an assurance of quality and offers the ability to use it over and over again after each growing cycle. It can absorb plenty of water in a short period of time and can also deliver water rapidly and abundantly.

The roots also have plenty of available oxygen, which keeps them active. Despite the absence of residual water, there is always enough humidity for the plant.

Coco substrate is light and stable and is one of the best mediums for providing oxygen to the roots of the growing plants. Atami coco substrates are internationally certified by RHP, a foundation whose aim is to optimize the quality of growing mediums.

The coconut fibres have been washed, steamed and buffered to ensure that the substrate is free from any pathogens and unwanted elements, giving an optimum growing substrate that is suitable for both seeds and cuttings.

Talborne VitaBone Bonemeal Phosphate

Talborne VitaBone Bonemeal Phosphate

Talborne VitaBone Bonemeal Phosphate (4-10-0, (14)) – pH: 6.9 – 2kg bags

Vita Bone Phos Bonemeal is a natural slow release soil amendment / fertilizer that stimulates vigorous and healthy plant growth. Promotes strong roots and sturdy plants.

Bonemeal is water-insoluble, it needs to be broken down before a plant can absorb it, either by soil acidity (pH < 7.0) or by microbial activity producing acids. It releases its nutrients over a period of 1 – 4 months. Adding beneficial bacteria to you soil or substrate mix will ensure that the bonemeal is broken down into an inorganic and plant-available form. Products like Biodyne 401 or BioFetoPower can be used for this purpose.

Bonemeal is particularly beneficial for root crops, including carrots, onions, radishes, parsnips and turnips. Flowers grown from bulbs, corms and tubers will also benefit from an application of bonemeal.

Bonemeal (and other phosphorus sources) is toxic to members of the Protea family. These plants and others adapted to nutrient-poor soils and can easily scavenge necessary minerals.
