A CO2 Regulator helps with CO2 supplementation for your grow area and your plants will love you for it!  CO2 supplementation using CO2 tanks and regulators become necessary when the grow area is too large to be accommodated by other means of CO2 supplementation that are best suited for smaller growing areas, like the average grow tent ( e.g. Yeast and sugar solutions / mycelium generators / compressed CO2 can dispensers, etc. )

There is great benefit to supplementing with CO2 when growing – as plants use the carbon gleaned from CO2 in the air to literally build themselves! ( Read more HERE )

  • Please Note: Our regulators may vary slightly in appearance and specification, depending on availability.
  • IMPORTANT: These types of regulators are NOT made to release gas for extended periods of time ( short bursts of up to around 30 seconds only, with enough time between bursts to allow the regulator to get back to normal temperature ). For LARGE rooms a thermostatically controlled electric heated regulator will be required! An unheated unit will freeze up and cease to operate correctly or trip power supply when it releases gas for extended periods of time / too frequently! If a regulator freezes up – it is either overworked, or faulty. Both of these conditions require urgent attention.
  • HANDY TIP: Apply Soapy water to (pressurized) parts and connections of your system to make sure that there are no leaks present. 

 

These CO2 Regulators are fitted with a 220-volt solenoid which can be turned on and off manually, or using a digital timer. Both of these methods are NOT RECOMMENDED – increasing CO2 levels in the air without CO2 monitors or CO2 controllers CAN BE FATAL! Using a CO2 controller with the regulator is ideal, as the controller’s CO2 sensor will turn the CO2 supply from the tank OFF when the desired ( and still safe for humans ) PPM levels are reached. Growers often like add enrich their room air to concentration of up to 1200 PPM CO2.

CO2 tanks are normally rented or refilled with commercial gas suppliers, e.g. Afrox.

The height and number of levels of drying nets can be adjusted according to your needs – each drying rack consists out various pieces that are clipped together. These drying nets can be compactly folded down into their carry bags when not in use.

Drying out harvested flower should be done in a dark area with gentle airflow, over a period of 3 to 7 days on average. Climate in your drying area should be around 23° Celsius with 50% humidity (use a Digital Thermo-Hygrometer to monitor your climate)

Flowers should be spaced out on your net surface so that there is free airflow all around them.

The Garden HighPro MediPro Plant Guardian is here to save your plant tops from the intense heat emitted by hot HPS lamps!

The Medipro marks off the required distance between your plants and lamp, with each stick in the modular system measuring 10cm (with 5 sticks in the set). Fit the heat resistant clip over the E40 light fitting of your reflector, with the right number of measuring sticks screwed onto it. Now you will reduce the risk of having your light fixture too close to your plants. A mini thermo hygrometer is also included and can be attached at the other end of the Garden HighPro MediPro to indicate temperature and humidity in the area of the leaf-tops.

The heating pad creates perfect conditions for all types of propagation: Flexible warmth, where you need it. Helps overwintering of frost tender plants.

Applying heat to the bottom of a flat as the seeds germinate will increase your success and ensure a healthy root system. YOU WILL NEED SOME INSULATION BETWEEN THE HEATING PAD AND THE SEEDLING TRAYS, if not using a temperature controller. If no controller is present, use a thermometer inside one of the soil filled seedling tray cells and adjust insulation until desired soil temp is achieved.

A heating Pad will ensure that your seeds have a constant steady temperature. This results in faster and also more even germination. Chili plants, peppers, sweet peas and many more need at least 19°C soil temperature and above to germinate. If your home is cold or you have an unheated greenhouse, then it will heat just the seed trays and you won’t face a bill for heating the whole room. It also allows you to extend the sowing season. They can be used to help cuttings strike, and you can utilize the mats to overwinter tender specimens.

Read up about the ideal conditions that your Starke Ayres Vegetable Seed Packs require for best results. Ideally, the newly sprouted seeds should be left undisturbed ( except for watering ) until the new seedlings are ready to transplant – the bigger the seedling is when first transplanted, the less stressful the transition will be on the plant. Jiffy 7 Pellets are great for germination, and seedlings can be potted into 1.5lt or 5lt Thermoform Plant Pots, using a seedling mix, like Freedom Farms SeedStarter. Once repotted, water seedlings well, to allow the substrate to compact and settle onto the seedling’s root ball. Light feeding can the begin, using nutrients of your choice, given in concentrations that fall in line with the feeding requirements of the type of plant at its current size.
