Six Port Sprinkler Bubbler Manifold – an ideal component if you are building a small or medium sized automated watering system!

This economical sprinkler manifold screws into standard so called 1/2″ (approx. 17mm) male threaded sprinkler adaptor fittings and allows for the connection of up to 6 “5mm” irrigation lines. These 5mm watering lines (commonly in use in residential and agricultural irrigation and often referred to as micro-sprinkler piping) can each water an individual potted plant. Fewer lines can be utilized as well – simply leave the end caps that the unit comes with attached to each outlet that is not being used.

We currently stock straight 12mm Inline Tap Adaptors fittings and straight 15 mm Inline Tap Adaptor fittings – both of which are compatible with these manifolds. The only difference between these would be the size of irrigation line that would be used ( 12mm or 15mm ).

The water output per line per minute will of course be determined by the amount of water pressure that the Six Port Sprinkler Bubbler Manifold is connected to – pond pump normally do not provide lots of pressure, and if they are used, the pump may have to remain on for a longer period of time before the desired amount of water has been applied to each pot. A simple test can be run after the watering system has been installed, to see how many liters of water is provided by each outlet per minute – simply place an outlet inside of a measuring jug and use your smartphone’s stopwatch function to run the pump for one minute. Then see how much water has been added to the jug.

Multiple manifolds can be used to set up a single watering system, but remember that increased pump sizes / increased water pressures will be need as the number of manifolds are increased. The output of each manifold and 5mm irrigation line may also vary – depending on the way that the system is set up… if the water pressure in the main supply line is not equalized, the manifold furthest from the water source inlet will have a smaller flowrate than the closer ones. 5mm lines that are substantially longer than the others will also have a lesser flow-rate.

Analogue or digital timers can be used to automatically turn watering on and off during a 24 hr or weekly period.

TIP: A simple pressure-equalizing base can easily be constructed with a bit of piping and irrigation fittings, as in the picture below…

The Autopot Flexipot 2 System AQUAValve5 combines our power-free, water efficient, low maintenance, modular systems with high performance fabric pots for the first time. Flexipots stimulate plant growth by aerating, feeding and guiding the root structure rather than merely containing it.

The new Aquavalve5 has a 66% Bigger Inlet and uses 9mm piping and fittings.

The porous BPA-free, lead-free Flexipot material allows improved gas exchange in the substrate. Free to breathe the root zone can see dramatically enhanced oxygen levels – supercharging growth.

When root tips reach the porous side of a Flexipot they are ‘air-pruned’ – deterred from extending any further by the air outside. Secondary roots then develop, creating a fibrous root structure with vastly improved moisture and nutrient uptake. Root circling is also thus eliminated making it possible to produce bigger plants from smaller pots.

Extremely durable and reusable the Flexipots are easily cleaned between uses if desired. Once emptied the Flexipots are best left to dry. After a few days any dust and small roots are easily brushed off. Whilst this level of cleaning is completely sufficient the Flexipot may be machine or tub washed in peroxide in order to sterilize. Do not put Flexipots in a tumble dryer.

An Autopot Flexipot 2 System AQUAValve5 contains all you need to set up an automated watering system with fabric pots. The compact size and portability that Flexipot brings means jaw-dropping reductions in shipping costs and much easier storage for stores and growers alike.

As with all of our systems the Flexipot System is easily extended so many pots can be linked to a single reservoir. The pots and trays can be easily moved at will, if the plants grow too large they can be spaced further apart with ease. Once set up with a water and nutrient filled reservoir this extremely versatile, gravity-fed system will run automatically. It will completely take care of all your plants needs without the need for pumps, timers or intensive maintenance.

When growing in AutoPot Watering Systems it is essential that a Flexipot PotSock Round (PotSocks included) be fitted to the base of each Flexipot to provide root control.

Please note: Room humidity may be increased when growing with multiple Flexipots indoors due to the exposed, porous surface of the fabric pots.

Growing Media is sold separately. Use coco coir based substrates of your choice, as coco coir is great at soaking and dispersing water throughout the substrate from the bottom of the pots.

It is also recommended to use about 1lt of LECA (Clay pebbles) to fill the bottom of each pot, before filling up the rest of the pot with your substrate of choice

PLANTiT Water Timer Use Example

PLANTiT Water Timer: Can be used with mains water from a tap outlet or with a gravity feed system from a tank, water butt or reservoir. With controls for duration and frequency link it up to your irrigation line and the timer does the rest. It has 2 easy steps for programming. Turn the RUN TIME dial to desired irrigation duration and the FREQUENCY dial to set the time between irrigations.

This timer is ideal for watering allotments, lawns, garden, shrubs, pots, hanging baskets, patio irrigation, roof garden, holiday watering and sprinkler. It is weather resistant and battery operated with an auto safety valve shut off when the battery power is low.

This controller has a program delay button for when you need to do plant maintenance work and comes with all the required fittings and an inline filter. It has a working pressure range of 0- 150 PSI (0-10 BAR) and includes the required connector fittings.

You can select the frequency of irrigation to every 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 48, 72 hours or 1 week and with a run time of 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes.

Garden HighPro ProActiv Carbon Filters – extremely light, single-use carbon filters.

ProActiv Carbon Filters use only 100% food grade virgin coconut activated carbon, encased in multi-layer fleece mats that are sealed air-tight on both ends of the scrubber.

Installation is super easy – just clip each end of the filter onto a rope ratchet and attach your ducting!

  • Get rid of unwanted odours by attaching a carbon filter before your exhaust fan/s.
  • In a closed-system grow area, cycle your air through a carbon filter to help keep it free from dust, mold spores and bacteria. (Be sure to DEHUMIDIFY – carbon filters stop working in 85% + R.H. environments !)
  • Clean and scrub your incoming air supply and stop pests like spider mites and others from getting into your grow area by installing a carbon filter before your inlet fan/s.

How match your Garden HighPro ProActiv Carbon Filters up with the correct sized inline fans:

1) First, determine how much air-flow your will need through your grow space. If you are using fans to exhaust heat caused by hot HPS grow-lamps, a quick calculation can be done…

Number of lamps × Watts of each lamp ÷ 2 = Required cubic meters per hour of air flow needed.

(We recommend adding × 1.2 to this answer for our HOT ZA summers!)

2) Find one or more fans (whichever will best suit your area) that will provide a total airflow =/> than what has been worked out in step 1.

3) Match up each of your chosen fans with a carbon filter of the same diameter (preferably, to avoid the additional cost of ducting reducers). Also check the filter length if installing in cramped spaces.

VERY IMPORTANT: ALSO make sure that the filter’s air-flow capacity matches or exceeds the fan’s airflow rating, using the ProActive Filter table below. If too much air passes through the filter, it will not be able to scrub the passing air thoroughly!

4) Once your fans and filters have been matched up, it’s time to work out how many meters of ducting your will need, as well as other accessories, like Rope Ratchets, Ducting Clamps, or rolls of Aluminium Tape.

The filter then reduces to 9mm allowing easy connection to 9mm Autopot Piping providing the trunk-line for any AutoPot Watering System of between 1 and 6 modules, that uses the new Aquavalve 5. The fitting also has an internal filter that can be accessed with ease ensuring cleaning is made simple.

Ducting  is used to connect inline fans with items like spigot flanges, Air Carbon scrubbers or other fittings .

This flexible aluminium Ducting is specifically produced for low and medium pressure heating, cooling, ventilation, exhaust and air conditioning systems. It is produced from multi-layer aluminium, strengthened with high tension hard steel spring wire. It has high elasticity and flexibility. It can be easily fitted to circular, oval or rectangular connectors.

Keep in mind: It is ideal to keep your ducting pulled as tight as possible to reduce resistance thus ensuring maximum airflow. The more bends and corners you put in, the more you are reducing the fans capability.

The Cooltube Reflector is an air-tight, fully sealed clear glass tube with a lamp mounting bracket in its center on the one end. Cooltube Reflectors are perfect for removing the excess heat generated by HPS or Metal Halide grow lights.

Cooltubes were one of the first air cooled reflectors to become available and all these years later they are still a firm favorite with many growers. They are effectively an inline glass tube that allows you to extract air through the reflector and over your lamp, taking the heat away before it can raise the temperature of your grow room. Cooltubes can be mounted in series along the same length of flexible aluminium ducting.

The Cooltubes have a rounded internal reflector (inside the glass tube), as well as foldable outside reflector wings, for a slightly tighter light spread. They have a mounting hook on each side, to suspend from rope ratchets, come with a 4.5 m long male kettle plug power cord and can be used with up to 1000 Watt bulbs. The hood is fitted with a ceramic E40 light fitting.

The Click Fit Tank Adapter and Filter 12mm is designed to be used with all sizes of FlexiTank or any other large tank. The Click Fit Tank Adapter and Filter 12mm is simply pushed onto the tap provided. The 12mm filter is incorporated along its length to filter the water before it moves along to the other connected pipes. This fitting allows the user to push 12mm pipe, (Hosepipe) onto the end of the adapter.

The filter resides within the length of the fitting. It reduces impurities in the water before it enters the pipework connected to the AQUAvalves trays and pots. This helps prevent the build up of sediment and the clogging of pipework.

You should always use a filter with all AutoPot Watering Systems, it is very important that you check and clean the filter regularly. If you use an inline filter it should be cleaned every 2-4 weeks. A poorly maintained filter can result in disrupted nutrient solution supply and even block the AQUAvalves.

Generally, if you keep clean and make sure your reservoir and AutoPot trays do not get contaminated with debris, your AQUAvalve should work perfectly for the duration of your crop. If you are growing long term crops you should service your AQUAvalves every 3 months.
