Commercial Instruments CO₂ Controller – Model AWG610

The Commercial Instruments AWG610 is a simple, accurate digital CO₂ monitor and controller designed for grow rooms and controlled environments. It continuously measures CO₂ (PPM) and can automatically control a connected CO₂ device to maintain your target level. A large, easy-to-read LCD screen displays CO₂ concentration, temperature, and humidity, with 1 PPM display resolution for precise monitoring.

The AWG610 includes a remote sensor unit (with hook for hanging at canopy height) and supports both Plant Mode and Human Mode, making it useful for cultivation control or general CO₂ level monitoring with alarms.

Plant Mode (Grow Room Control)

In Plant Mode, the AWG610 uses its built-in photocell to detect day vs night.
This allows it to automatically stop CO₂ output during darkness (when plants aren’t using added CO₂ efficiently), and resume control when light is detected.

Human Mode (Alarm & Safety Monitoring)

In Human Mode, the unit provides CO₂ alarms with adjustable thresholds:

  • AL1 default: 800 PPM (adjustable 800–2500 PPM, steps of 100 PPM)

  • AL2 default: 2600 PPM (adjustable 2600–5000 PPM, steps of 100 PPM)

When CO₂ rises above AL1, the buzzer sounds intermittently and the relay is triggered. If CO₂ rises above AL2, the alarm becomes more urgent.

Setpoint & Deadband Control…

You can set a target CO₂ level using SETPOINT, and adjust the control range using DEADBAND.

  • Deadband range: 50–500 PPM (each press changes by 50 PPM)
    Example from manual:
    If Setpoint = 1000 PPM and Deadband = 200 PPM, output starts below 800 PPM.

Calibration

Calibration is done by taking the sensor unit outdoors, powering it via 5V USB-C, and holding CALI for 3 seconds. Calibration takes about 15 minutes.
