Worm castings are a gentle, all-natural soil booster packed with nutrients and beneficial microbes. They won’t burn your plants, but using the right amounts will give you the best results.

Top Dressing / Fertilizer

  • Indoor plants: Sprinkle a thin layer (about 1 cm) over the soil every 2–3 months.

  • Outdoor plants: Spread a 1–2 cm layer around the base of plants every 2–3 months. Water lightly to help nutrients soak in.

Planting Seedlings & Transplants

  • Add 1 heaped tablespoon (20–30 ml) of castings into the planting hole before placing your seedling.

  • For larger plants or transplants, use up to 40–50 ml for an extra boost.

Potting Soil Mix

  • Blend into your potting soil at 10–20% worm castings (about 1 part castings to 4 parts soil or compost).

  • This improves soil health, root growth, and moisture retention without making the mix too heavy.

Seedling Mix

For strong, healthy starts:

  • 40% coco peat

  • 40% perlite

  • 20% worm castings

🌿 Extra Tip

Worm castings work best with regular, light applications rather than heavy doses. Think of them as a steady food supply for your plants and soil microbes.

✅ Microgreens Growing Medium Recommendations

Worm castings:

  • Optional, and only at 5–10% of the mix.

  • This provides beneficial microbes and a gentle nutrient kick, but keeps the medium light and clean.
